Nebraska Friends of Foster Care
NFFC is a nonprofit organization that aims to improve the lives of foster children by accepting and funding requests for items and experiences normally out of reach for foster care families with limited budgets. Requests often include school supplies, driver’s education classes, sport and school activity fees, summer camps, graduation caps and gowns, senior pictures, prom attire and music or dance lessons.
Eligibility for grants:
Caseworkers, foster parents, or service providers may apply for grants for foster children under the age of 19 who are currently Nebraska state wards and in out-of-home care.
Ticket to Dream
Ticket to Dream is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing hope and opportunity for foster children across the nation, so they can just be kids. They ensure foster youth of all ages have the school supplies, holiday gifts, properly fitting clothing and shoes that all children need to thrive. They provide and fund enriching life experiences like a trip to the zoo, joining the soccer team, music lessons, help in school, and tickets to fun events.
They also fund aging out programs that increase graduation rates, provide housing, access to laptops and teach employment/life skills aimed to prepare foster youth for adulthood and reduce the rate of homelessness as they leave care.
